I love your web site. just learned of it thru PassageMaker Mag. We are also KK owners, a 39. We will be retiring next spring and head for Lake Superior for the summer. This will be our warm up trip for the Loop in 2014. We have cruised Georgian Bay for years and are ready for more adventures. I am inspired by your writing.
As I start to navigate around your website looking for great loop and trawler stories, I get looking a litter closer at your boat and something clicks! Hey I recognize this gorgeous boat: so I scan through my boating folder pictures and there I find a nice shot of Muddy Waters in Frying Pan Bay, Georgian Bay! My son (6 at the time) and I had several conversation about the amazing adventures you must have had sailing from Miami to Georgian Bay! I am quite excited to share your site with him tonight (we are both great dreamers alike)!
Thank you for sharing your experiences and adventures,
Gavin
Thanks for writing. That’s how our dreams started too way back when. We had a great time in the Georgian Bay in 2011 and especially enjoyed our time in Frying Pan Bay. I believe it was a Canadian holiday the weekend we were there. Lots of families on the water. Our own kids had a terrific time meeting other kids in Frying Pan Bay – swimming, paddle-boarding, BBQ-ing, etc. At one point we had nearly a dozen kids visit Muddy Waters, jumping from our top deck into the water. I think we even saw a bear on shore one evening. We hope to return some day. Keep dreaming and good luck to you and your son on making your dreams come true.

Thank you for the kind words. You’ll so enjoy the Great Loop and the people you meet along the way. It’s a special community. Best wishes.
